Cruising the Dirt Roads in the Evening

This week I got to go out and test my flies. They all had great action, and lured in a few. I did not successfully land any fish, but had some chasing the flies back to the bank. As far as tying, I have stuck to a nymph pattern and tied about 20 new flies this week with my son.

I feel like my story for this new occupation is still in the development phase. If a therapist were to ask me how it has changed my aspect on seeing life in a new way, a story would come out. The story would involve me changing my perspective from a necessary task assigned by a grade in class, to a hobby that is influenced by a will to complete it.  The story would be easy for the person listening to gain a perspective on what the activity is and what it means to me.

Now enjoy some pictures from the outing!

  1. Hello,
Man, it is so cold outside! I could never go fishing during this time of year. However, next time you go you should definitely invite me (I will see if I can sneak out of the house)! In regards to your occupation this week, does your son enjoy tying flies as much as you do? I mean, 20 of them is quite a lot! Keep up the good work!

    1. He seems to not enjoy it as much as me. He prefers to rather choose the materials and colors to tie into a pattern.
